• Can Tongue cancer actually be cured?
  Yes, Tongue cancer, like any other cancer can be cured. The percentage of patients cured is dependent on the stage of the cancer.
• How do you stage Tongue cancer?
  Tongue cancer are staged based on the size of the cancer and the presence extent of spread into the lymph nodes in the neck. And whether there is spread to the lungs and other organs.
• How is Tongue cancer treated?
  Depending on the stage and the location of the cancer, the treatment is either surgery alone, radiation therapy alone or a combination of both. Sometimes chemotherapy is used in certain circumstances.
• How long does the treatment take?
  Surgery, including recovery, usually takes 10 days to two weeks. Radiation therapy takes about 6 weeks of daily treatment.
• Will my speech and swallowing function by impacted by treatment?
  There will be impairment but it is manageable, most of our patients speak and swallow well.
